WHY: Gloves for Kids is a program designed to provide Detroit’s youth with the sporting equipment necessary to participate in organized baseball and softball. During select dates in May, June and July, Detroit Tigers players made appearances along with representatives from WXYT and WWJ AM (CBS Radio) at various Metro Detroit ABC Warehouse locations. Similar to past visits, Tigers players will sign autographs in exchange for donations of new or gently used baseball and softball equipment such as gloves, cleats, bats, balls, shin guards etc. Monetary donations are also accepted. CBS Radio stations and the Tigers will also collect equipment at Comerica Park on September 10.
