Today, the contract of Brandon Inge was released. The contract of Triple-A Toledo star Brad Eldred was purchased. Inge, 34, is a career .234 hitter who has played his entire 12-year career in Detroit. He hopes to continue playing elsewhere.
Inge said, "I could kind of see how things were going. But there are no hard feelings. This is my family. This is where I've been my whole career. I'll miss the guys -- I will."
He continued, "The chance to go play somewhere else might be good for me, personally."
