TIGERS RELEASE 2010 HOME SCHEDULE

Red Sox and Yankees Highlight Comerica Park Schedule

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers today released their 2010 home schedule, which features 81 games at Comerica Park, including contests against American League Central Division rivals, Interleague games against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Nationals, as well as a four-game series versus the New York Yankees and a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox.

A charter member of the American League since 1901, the Tigers will begin their 109th season on the road as they visit the Kansas City Royals for a three-game series, April 5-8 at Kauffman Stadium.

The Tigers will play their 11th home opener at Comerica Park on Friday, April 9 when they host the Cleveland Indians at 1:05 p.m. The series against the Indians continues April 10-11, before the Kansas City Royals visit Detroit for a three-game series April 12-14.

The Tigers welcome the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox for back-to-back series at Comerica Park in May. The Yankees lead off the homestand with a four-game series May 10-13. The Boston Red Sox following with a three-game set May 14-16. To cap a powerhouse homestand, the club finishes up the nine-game stretch at Comerica Park with two games against the Chicago White Sox May 17-18.
