RECENT RESULTS:
Comerica Park was postponed due to rain. The Tigers recorded their 10th victory in
the last 11 games with a 3-0 victory over the Royals on Saturday at Comerica Park.
Brad Penny (4-3) blanked the Royals on five hits over eight innings to earn the victory,
while Jose Valverde worked the ninth for his 10th save. Jhonny Peralta led the
Tigers offense with a pair of hits, including a double, and an RBI, while both Miguel
Cabrera and Victor Martinez added an RBI in the victory. The club continues a fourgame
homestand this evening with the first game of a two-game series against the
Toronto Blue Jays. Following tomorrow night’s game, the club heads to Boston and
Pittsburgh for a five-game road trip.
The Tigers game versus the Royals yesterday afternoon at
SEVEN STRAIGHT, LOOKING FOR EIGHT:
against the Blue Jays with a seven-game winning streak, the longest since also
winning seven straight from June 11-18, 2010. The last club winning streak of more
than seven games was an eight-game streak April 29-May 8, 2007.
