DEAL OR NO DEAL by Denny McLain

DEAL OR NO DEAL by Denny McLain

We are at a point in the season where GM's who have real manhood can make a real serious deal.
I pray that the Tigers don't hold on to Inge too much longer like they did with Bonderman. As some recall I was yelling from the highest mountain in 2006 about Bondy to trade him cause he did not have "IT" and that at the end of the Series in 2006 his value would never be higher.

Of course the GM kept this 40 million dollar mistake.

Now Inge; a $20 million .225 hitter that is no better or worse, and check to see how much each one of his homers costs.

Trade him now before the entire league wakes up and won't give you a real pitcher or a real consistent hitter and maybe you find lightening in a bottle with an Inge trade and do the team some real good.

You don't win pennants without good pitching and you can't win a pennant with .225 hitters, we have more than one don't we?

Pull the trigger GM and don't forget to throw in Bondy, save the season, give the team and the fans a shot to win!

MAN I AM SORRY, BUT WHAT THE HELL BRANDON INGE? By Denny McLain

MAN I AM SORRY, BUT WHAT THE HELL BRANDON INGE?
By Denny McLain

What the hell is going on?

Brandon Inge was voted to play in the All-Star game by the fans, and not the managers or players, (but that’s another story). He plays in the All-Star game, tries to hit homeruns and obviously hurts himself (more) in the game. Now he’s complaining that he is in excruciating pain. Excruciating pain is being shot in Iraq or Afghanistan isn’t it?

No one who can’t play 100% at this time of the season needs to play in excruciating pain.

Brandon! Sit down and rest, I guarantee you that it will be better, the team will be better. But now they are saying “In this excruciating pain...that he is going to play”.

Man...Come on Brandon! Either it’s horrible pain or it isn’t. There’s a real showing of selfishness by playing despite the “Pain”.

Folks, it’s obvious that Jimmy Leyland knows something about this “Pain” Inge has, cause I guarantee you if he was in excruciating pain, Leyland (always a player’s manager) would not allow him to play and possibly cut his career short.

There are no guarantees about what happens in this game, we all have been through pain but we DO NOT GO OUT AND TELL THE WORLD THAT WE ARE INJURED AND DESPITE ALL OF THAT PAIN...PLAY AND HURT THE TEAM.

How the hell can that be good for the “Team”?

“Team”, Brandon, (No “I” in team is there?) you have lost sight of the word “Team”. You do what’s in the best interests of the team, not holler about pain and hurt the club’s performance.

By the way just for the record, when I was really more stupid than I am today, I pitched despite the pain and won some games too! But the only thing playing for the “Gipper” did was cut my career short...by many years!

You can’t pitch very long with a torn Rotator Cuff, nor can you play if you have excruciating pain in your knee!

Yup, I don’t understand this dog and pony show, but Leyland, playing Inge right now is a sure way to show him off...right?

SEVEN KEYS FOR THE TIGERS AND A CENTRAL DIVISION TITLE

SEVEN KEYS FOR THE TIGERS AND A CENTRAL DIVISION TITLE
By Mike Niziolek

1- Brandon Inge’s Batting Average –
Inge has been mister clutch this season
for the Tigers and they can’t afford
him falling off his current pace to much.
He has a career batting average of .239 and many
are waiting for the bottom to fall out, but his consistency
could be the difference maker for Detroit.
In April and June he was great, but in May he
struggled. Right now his July numbers (.206 batting
average) look closer to his month of May
(.235), but there is a lot of time left.
He made the All-Star game, even getting
an invite to the Home-Run Derby, so hopefully
that will give the third baseman a boost going
into the final two months of the season.

Life Is Never What You Think It Is! By Denny McLain

Life can go to hell in a handbag at any moment ...right?

Did you ever notice when the Tigers win, how much more tolerable listening to Jim Price can be at times? Did I really say that?

Brandon Inge - Allow me to first apologize to anyone that reads and hears my comments once in awhile. I have always stuck by my statement; Inge is a .220 hitter and can’t play dead! But what a year our Brandon Inge is having huh? I even call him ours! I don’t know if he is taking “Juice,” eating wheaties, using condoms, getting lots of luvin or whatever, but my God Brandon keep doing it.

Fans of Tigers, Phillies help first-time All-Stars earn St. Louis spots

NEW YORK, July 9, 2009 – Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino and Detroit Tigers third baseman Brandon Inge were chosen by fans as the winners of the 2009 All-Star Game Sprint Final Vote in record-shattering voting exclusively on MLB.com, the official Web site of Major League Baseball, and the individual Club sites.
Baseball fans supported the 10 candidates named by All-Star managers Joe Maddon and Charlie Manuel in unprecedented fashion by casting a record 68.6 million votes since the program commenced on Sunday, July 5 at 2:00 p.m. (EDT). This year’s record number of votes represents an increase of 43.5 percent from the previous mark of 47.8 million set in 2008. Since its inception in 2002, the All-Star Game Sprint Final Vote has now recorded nearly 200 million votes.

The National League winner, Victorino, received the highest total number of votes ever, surpassing Evan Longoria’s nine million in 2008, and led all vote-getters with 15.6 million en route to becoming the second Phillies player to win the balloting (Bobby Abreu, 2004). He was followed by Pablo Sandoval of the San Francisco Giants, Mark Reynolds of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cristian Guzman of the Washington Nationals.

On the American League ballot, Inge became the first Detroit player to win the All-Star Game Sprint Final Vote by holding off Ian Kinsler of the Texas Rangers to claim the final spot on the All-Star roster with a final tally of 11.8 million votes, the most ever for an American League player. Inge and Kinsler were followed by Chone Figgins of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim; Carlos Pena of the Tampa Bay Rays; and Adam Lind of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Previous winners of the All-Star Sprint Game Final Vote are: Evan Longoria (AL, 2008); Corey Hart (NL, 2008), Hideki Okajima (AL, 2007); Chris Young (NL, 2007); A.J. Pierzynski (AL, 2006); Nomar Garciaparra (NL, 2006); Scott Podsednik (AL, 2005); Roy Oswalt (NL, 2005); Hideki Matsui (AL, 2004); Bobby Abreu (NL, 2004); Jason Varitek (AL, 2003); Geoff Jenkins (NL, 2003); Johnny Damon (AL, 2002); and Andruw Jones (NL, 2002).
