Tim Bryant, 1959-2012
Editor's Note:
Sad news today. Tim Byrant Director of Media Relations for Fox Sports Detroit has passed away at the young age of 53. Tim was instrumental in helping In Play! with our Detroit Tigers coverage and arranging the photo op for our last cover shot. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

Statement from Greg Hammaren, Senior Vice President and General Manager, FOX Sports Detroit:
“Tim was an invaluable member of the FOX Sports Detroit team. His contribution to the success of our business cannot be overstated. I am thankful to have worked alongside him and proud to have known him as a friend for the last 10 years. He was a confidant and a counselor to many of us, and his wisdom will be missed. It’s hard to find the words to describe the sadness all of us at FOX Sports Detroit are feeling today. Our thoughts and prayers go to Tim’s wife Teresa and his son Danny, whom he loved tremendously.”

Tim, age 53, spent virtually his entire career in sports, either directly serving teams or working alongside them as a media partner.

Before joining FOX Sports Detroit in 1998, Tim was the vice president of communications for the International Hockey League. Prior to that, he served as Director of Media Relations for the San Jose Sharks, where the team was a three-time recipient of the Dick Dillman Press Box Award, as presented by the Professional Hockey Writers Association, for having the NHL’s best media relations operation. His career also included time as Director of Public Relations for the Minnesota North Stars and Director of Communications for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Tim is survived by his wife Teresa and his son Danny.
