June 25, 2015 - The Tigers open a 10-game homestand this afternoon as they begin a four-game series vs. the White Sox. Following the series vs. Chicago, the homestand continues with three games against the Pittsburgh Pirates and three games against the Toronto Blue Jays.



J.D. Martinez enters today’s game having reached base safely in 17 consecutive games. The 17-game streak is the longest in Martinez’s career and ranks as the fourth-longest active on base streak in the American League.



The Tigers announced yesterday that catcher Alex Avila will begin an injury rehabilitation assignment with Triple A Toledo on Friday. Avila has been sidelined since May 8 with a loose body in his left knee.
